SHANTAWENE ANAEROBIC

Beautifully aromatic, juicy and complex, with a lovely fruity sweetness and a clean finish. The anaerobic character is noticeable but well balanced, without being overly funky. A distinctive and enjoyable coffee that stays interesting as it cools. Would happily order it again.

The Shantawene coffee is a real stand out for its fruity notes. I am not sure I can pin them down exactly, but I had associations with tropical fruits, some tea notes and a very pleasant aftertaste without any lingering acidity.

My favourite coffee so far!

Der Kaffee hat einen guten, fruchtigen Geschmack, das Geruchsaroma beim öffnen der Packung ist total lecker, süß-berrig. Habe ihn mit dem Kalita, dem V60 u. dem Origami gebrüht, immer ein gutes Ergebnis…beerig-süß und typischen Kaffeegeschmack. Lecker 🤗. Wenn die Röstung vielleicht noch nen Tick heller wäre, würden eventuell noch mehr süße Geschmacksaromen zur Geltung kommen. Ich werde mir diese Bohnen aber wieder bestellen, eine absolute Kaufempfehlung von mir.

Unlike with original, yet not getting the same fruity results. The flavor and texture seem to be different from the original release, I find this one less funky and less interesting to my taste.

I loved it

Me and my husband love all blends and uniqueness of each package we have bought from The Barn. I’m from Panama and I was used to get geisha coffee or simple high quality local coffee. I’m so happy to have found this company that gives me the opportunity of trying coffee from other Central American countries, some that even brings those memories from home.

I really like the taste of this coffee which is nice and delicate but not very sharp. It is a joy to drink.

I love to brew Shatawene als Japanese Style Iced Coffee and it tastes absolutely amazing. It’s almost like drinking juice!

Good Coffee , little sour , too expensive for this coffee

Even the first cup put a smile on my face. It has everything I want from a coffee. Fruity and sweet. What stands out to me is the strawberry flavor.

The anaerobic process add the yogurt flavour to the beans which still is not overpowered.

When I got it, I didn't taste much fruit, maybe it hadn't rested enough (brewed with comandante + Aeropress). Now I taste the notes but I expected it to be funkier, now I just find it fruity. Good but not what I wanted from that order.

This is the most fruitful and delicious coffee I ever tried. Prepared as filter or as espresso, I always felt the fruitful flavors of the anaerobic processing. It makes my day really better! It is a must-try if you are a fan of fruitful coffees!
